What's your favourite tape echo toneprint? and why?

I find the stock tape setting modulation to be a bit unrealistic

My Flashback spends 99% of the time on the Steffen Schackinger Basic Delay toneprint which is based on a tape delay but with dynamic ducking as well. It just works really well for me as it just 'gets out of the way' when things are busy and doesn't clog up the mix too much.

Same issue. 
Still haven't found anything as good as my Boss RE-20 in there (using a FB mini).
For the time being I've made my own based on the analog setting, then really darkened the repeats -- which allows for quite a lot of them without getting in the way of the main thing I'm playing.  I also adjusted the available delay times so now turning the delay knob from min to max just gives me what I need (basically got rid of all the really long times.)

Hi , I have a flashbackx4. I'm toying with the idea of putting up for trade with either the alter egox4 or triple delay.

does anyone know if ego tone prints can be used on the flashback? I know the ego can use flashback ones but ordered if it can be reversed. I've seen some who have created ego type tone prints for the x4.

but as I preference vintage delays I'd rather have more and use a couple of modern tone prints etc

Get the tc editor to fine tune what youre looking for

Yep was looking down that road, just can be quite time consuming

The main challenge with the editor is that you can't load the preset/TonePrint and then then tweak to taste.

 There's a  killer Petrucci  dual delay setting  that Id really like to  get under the hood of  and the limitations/ design of software is frustrating

No, AE Toneprints are AE only. As you say you can go the other way, but not AE onto regular.

Again you can make them, as parameters are the same.

Triple you can't have AE either.

I had a triple and an AE, triple was fun for stacking delays, but I didn't need it and as I had a timeline, kept the AE with the timeline and sold the triple.

If I was to only have one on the board it would be a triple as you can do more with it, but thats personal preference. 

Personally I wouldn't take the hit selling an X4 to get an AE X4 when the sounds are there if you really want them, but thats just me, they are just the same units with different presets.
