I have rubbish hair. It's really fine and I find it difficult to do anything with it. However, I've managed to find a few products that have helped me style it into something that makes it look I've made an effort.

Anti gravity by Kevin Murphy (gives my hair lift and volume)
Defined Structure by Wella (provides a good hold without any stickiness)
TechniArt by Loreal (provides a stronger hold)

Contrary to what you might be thinking, I'm not a girl and I don't wear skirts. Oh, I forgot to mention I use a Treseme hair dryer, too!

L'Oreal Matt and Messy fibre paste - 8/10 strength.

Then Tresemme Freeze Hold hairspray - 5/5 strength.

My hair is absurdly thick and grows pretty fast, so the longer it gets the more of those products I get through. It's quite long again at the minute and I'm liking it.

@Philly_Q ; He meant this stuff.

It's actually very good. When it dries it keeps the old quiff sticking up, although with all that sugar you have to be careful of wasps following you in summer.

Once, when I had much longer hair (shoulder length, with a fuck off huge fringe), I had to slick it all back with Brylcreem for a school thing. It took three washes to get all the fucking stuff out. Awful.

Sometimes when I can't be arsed to do my hair, I shove it back with a hairband like some footballers etc. do. Here's me modelling the look with a 1962 Epiphone Coronet I met in a Stockholm guitar shop. It would look better if my hair was longer and flopped back properly.

The guitar was very nice too - really lovely. The 1967 Olympic on the wall was also not bad.

  • Some sort of hair putty. Although the body shop beeswax stuff isn't too bad.
I would love to change my username, but I fully understand the T&C's (it was an old band nickname). So please feel free to call me Dave.

  • American crew pomade w 1/3 Dax pomade for hold.
Do you find that combo hard to wash out?
@bingefeller, not at all & I use less than a flat teaspoon on wet hair.

  • Dax wax (purple...Green when it's longer, and need taming).

Wash it out with Aussie mega. It strips wax out of hair brilliantly.

Dax holds really well, feels natural (not claggy, sticky, or hard), doesn't look too shiny, and darkens down my grey nicely.

    Marlin.

Aye some wax products tend to repel water and it's really hard to get them washed out.

I think I have to start doing that, it's not shoulder long or anything but my fringe gets to my nose and it fucks me off. But I don't want it cut because I get a cold head and I look like a proper bell cheese in a beanie.
