Oasis Documentary

Went to the cinema screening of this last night.

Depicts early Oasis through to the Knebworth gigs, I'm not an uber-fan but they were the British Band of the 90's when I was growing up.

Some great bits in it, especially their Mum, she's proper funny, and some not previously seen footage of the night they played Glasgow and got signed and other bits and bobs.

Worth a watch if you've any interest in them.

Last night had a live streaming of a Q n A with Liam, he was typically Liam, which is funny and complete bellend all rolled into one.

Those at the Q n A live had paid £150 for a ticket, which seemed like daylight robbery but there we go.

Gonna see it this week if I get chance. Read some early reviews that seems to say they have left out a lot of the post Knebworth "juicy" or tabloid worthy stuff. But for me that's a plus tbh.

Yeah I was a bit of an Oasis fan boy during the first two albums until the late 90s when I totally lost interest. This could be good for the nostalgia lols and Britpop memories.

It stops dead at the end of the Knebworth gig so that's intentional-the QnA with Liam and Director showed that part 2 was definitely on the cards.

BBC iplayer has 'Oasis - in thier own words' (half hour program) until the end of the month for those that are interested. I'm not so I can't tell you how good it is.

You should also check out the Pulp documentary. Its brilliant.

(Plus they were miles better than Oasis.)

It's out on the 7th "in selected cinemas" for us mere mortals. The Q&A thing is on youtube, and not really worth watching tbh. Wonder why Noel snubbed it all?

I must have missed that weekend when pulp played knebworth.

Loved the first couple of albums at the time, Liam and Noel always make for good viewing, but there is no doubting the fact that Noel has gone on to be the more credible of the two brothers. Liam has kind of wasted his chances and become your typical "parody of his former self"

Noel always was the more credible, he wrote all the songs, and is/was also a damn good singer. Liam was great in the 90's but his voice deteriorated over the years in my opinion. Probably a deciding factor in why Noel decided it was time to call it a day, and why it is unlikely they will reform.  I think he has outgrown him and moved on.

Well that and they always fought like two cats in a sack, Noel probably had enough. 

The gobby twat was at Noel again last night.

Never liked them, although they did write some cracking songs.

Liam is such a knob that I really don't want to see anything with him in it, but I like Noel and his humour/take on things a lot.

I've posted this before - but it perhaps bears repetition. 

A friend of mine used to work in Spain and was at Alicante airport when Liam came through. The way she tells it Is that he was pounced on for endless selfies/autographs and apparently was unflinchingly obliging and smiley throughout....

I was on a car journey on a Saturday morning years ago and there were two guests on the radio show: Noel Gallagher and Trude Mostue ( pretty TV vet). Noel was polite and funny, Trude kept swearing and talking about testicles. I think the Gallagher brothers understand very well how to manage their image and exercise self control when necessary.

There's a million stories about him being like that, but they don't sell newspapers and people remember the times he acted a cock (with zero antagonisation by the "victim" I'm sure).

Theres no doubting he's a bit of a bellend,but he's a funny one and been a rock star for 20+ years.

Hes your class clown/idiot/funny mate who happened to front the biggest British band of the 90's.
