EQD Palisades (lots of tube screamers basically).
Works beautifully to push an over driven amp more.
Or is a hop stand-alone into a clean amp.
    Very versatile.

Very happy with my Way Huge Fat Sandwich. Also have a keeley modded ts-808 but that falls in and out of favour for some reason... never fully gelled with it.

It depends what the purpose is. For boosting an already driven amp my favourites are the Boss SD-1w and the MXR ZW44 (which is pretty much an sd1!)

into to a cleaner amp for a little breakup and bite I like the OCD v1.7

    Analogman KoT.
It saved me a fortune too- no more revolving door of pedals.

This is the point of this thread, I'm hoping to have a look at some names I might not know in order to avoid the carousel of pedals.

KOT is on the list, as is the Lazy J Cruiser, Thorpy Warthog and KTR.

    Nobels ODR-1
Beautifully under-priced.  Distinctive in that it's not another TS.
Only drawback is that it's a bit noisy.  But hey, you won't hear that when you're playing.
Rock/ Indie voiced for sure; a bit country rock at the lower drive settings.

I love the Matthews Effects Cartographer, you can really shape it how you want. Sounds great after my SS/BS Team Awesome too, fuzz into OD sounds so cool.

With a good amp all you need is a J Rockett Archer

The Warthog is one of the most versatile pedals I've ever owned. The range of tones really is unlike any other OD I've tried. Coupled with the Peacekeeper, it's an amazing pairing.

i also love the Shiba Reloaded and Carpe Diem

The Hudson Broadcast is the only thing that's impressed me in quite some time. Failing that the SD-1w would do nicely.

Yep, I missed out on the one that came up on here this week. Though I've just got the Analogman Sunlion so I don't think I'd be able to run those two pedals as both are germanium aren't they?

  • Well, there is about 20 to try. :D

    The carousel keeps spinning...

I've stopped looking since I got a df-2. I don't use a middy overdrive to push an amp though, the df-2 is more like a big, loose low gain distortion.

I do have a more traditionally voiced pedal, but it doesn't get used much.
