Does it happen on both channels? Have you tried swapping any valves?
This is not an official response.

The two times this has happened to me over the years was once a valve dying and the other time a transformer on the way out.

First try removing all true bypass pedals, especially the EH.

  • If in doubt, rip them out :-P

Try replacing them with Planet Waves/Daddario cables (the ones I have - good quality and value) or Fender custom shop cables that most big guitar shops have for £5 a pop.

Then when all the Planet Waves and Fender Custom Shop cables have failed, replace them with something good... it shouldn't take long.

Those two brands are the most unreliable cables I've ever come across, worse than the cheapest cheap crap.

Plugs on Fender cables are rubbish as ICBM says.
I've seen more broken Fender cables than any other bit of sound equipment.

Op says all leads are KABL. Try swapping your patch leads for KABL as well.

If you've got a soldering iron you could always knock up your own patch leads.
Sommer, Klotz or Van Damme cable and decent pancake jacks. That way you get exactly the size leads you need.

Thanks for the replies gents.  I like my kabl cables, but I find it hard to justify £43 for 5x10cm cables.
In a decent cable it's the plugs and assembly that make up most of the price - the cable itself is pretty cheap.
