For the first time ever I'm having a guitar built.
It's a tele style in butterscotch with a blackguard....maple neck and board.
It's going to have a wide ranging humbucker in the neck and an 11 pole single coil in the bridge...it'll also have a switch on the control plate to switch the humbucker to single coil.
I've got some progress pictures from the builder and as I get more I'll put them up.
Can't wait to get hold of this one..

That body looks lovely. I have just finished a cheap kit build recently and if / when I upgrade the body, it's one exactly like this one that I've got in mind. Nice big grain, strung through with a belly cut and forearm cut.

Interested to see how this progresses!

    Two neck pickups?
    That's a novel idea.

Is that a tele with the curves of a strat? Nice.
Who have you got building it for you?
Always be yourself! Unless you can be Batman, in which case always be Batman.
My boss told me "dress for the job you want, not the job you have"... now I'm sat in a disciplinary meeting dressed as Batman.

Yeah...I asked him for the forearm and belly curves.
California Artist Guitars...it's going to be based on the rat rod one on his site under t series guitars.

    Awesome!

I really love the cuts. I'm definitely going for one of these when I rebuild mine in the future.

  • Very nice. Are you going with a humbucker sized wrhb in the neck? A full sized one looks awesome in a standard tele.

Yeah the forearm and belly cuts should make it really comfortable to play... :)

    It's going to have Joce Dominger pick ups @capo4th ;

a wide range humbucker in the neck which I'll be able to split to single coil and an 11 pole normal tele bridge pick up.

think I'm going to have a black guard instead of the tortoise shell one.. :)

I think the tortoiseshell guard looks absolutely killer, just saying. Plus personally, I'd have a PAF humbucker type in the neck slot, but it's not about me of course. Going to be a lovely guitar anyhow, that much is clear, and cheers for the pics.
