Which type of circuit (run into a clean amp) would get in the ballpark of the rhythm guitar tone on this track?

Hadn't heard of this lot but I like that sound too.
Been checking out their live vids and he uses a bunch of amps, Marshall, Orange, Vox and always gets that kind of sound, and not too much tap dancing.
But the one consistent feature is that he's usually using a capo somewhere between the 3rd and 5th and playing open chords.

Lol, did they appear on your Spotify discover playlist, along with mine and all my mates? Blatant backhanders going on!

Actually the bass player in my band suggested we could cover this track.  I'll ask him whether it was an inspired choice, or a Spotify-inspired choice ...

It's quite a fuzzy drive tone but with clarity in the upper mids. Really depends on your amp, but I'd probably say an OCD would get you most of the way with most amps.

  • I had a bit of a go this morning.  I don't have an OCD, so I tried with the MXR SBAD and Ramble Marvel Drive - neither of which really nailed it.  My @juansolo Ultrastoner 2 in diode lift mode got fairly close though.  I'll try that at the next band rehearsal - this particular Muff derivative seems more capable than most of allowing rhythm tones to cut through the mix.

Yeah a muff with a screamer type boost into the front could work quite well

That's actually LED clippers in the 2nd stage, it'd really take your head off if there was a lift!. The Mk2 US and TSM are VERY versatile with all the switching. We simplified things with the Mk3 so each one concentrates more on what they do best. But the Mk2's still have their place if you want to experiment.
