It can have the opposite effect as well, when you discover your beloved DD-3 doesn't work in a loop cos it can't cope with the level, not a good day...

With the Polara Reverb it was immense.

That the combo I'm using: I just love the Plate sim on the Polara.  Downside is I'm now dreaming of a real tape echo unit and a DIY plate!
