Fret wear (on acoustics in particular)

Jabbing the end of my fingers tips with the sharp end of guitar strings, during restringing, when trying to pull out the wound bit of string from the tuners, making it bleed.

Seething!

I usually end up stabbing my finger when coiling up the old string to stick it in the bin. I feel smug after restringing with no stabs only for karma to deal it's blow as I try to coil it up for recycling. Grrrr

If I was President Donald Trump I would start a Nationwide Academy to encourage Cowboys to use every part of the fretboard.

Thank you, I would welcome your insight in how to restring properly and remove the coiled piece of string from the tuner.

I am a Cowboy (I'm Randall Flagg!) but this Donald Trump fella is like no gunslinger I have ever encountered

Only thing I hate about them, is that I can't immediately have more of them!
The only easy day, was yesterday...

  • I hate the endless grind to get to a reasonable level!
I fear when mine need re-fretted, too.

  • Split Post Tuners are used for a reason.

I always wear leather gauntlets with chain mail covering when changing strings.
Apart from putting strings through the wrong holes, I've had no problems worth mentioning.

Thats funny because I always play 80's cult classic video game Gauntlet while restringing.

    I do this too.

Next time I need to remember to take them off before I start playing. Strangely it sounds the same even when I do remember..

Yep, often happens to me. I think it's because I find changing strings boring and my mind's not on it.

    It's not a competition.

    2. Use flatwounds.  I tried some as an experiment and the things seem to last forever.

    Edit...mistake.

Split Post Tuners are used for a reason.
I don't know why they allow other kinds of tuners

I do like the tuners on my AV52 Tele, Fender split tuners are fantastic.
