Worst book to film adaptations

In the same vein as the other thread, the absolute worst adaptations of the written word out there. 


Enders game - the most treasured piece of my literary past, ruined in cinema.

The Johnny Depp version of Alice in Wonderland is awful too.

The Great Gatsby - I don't know why I watched it because Baz Luhrmann was a terrible choice to direct and I knew it could only have ended in tears. A brilliant book but a bloated film that lacked any sort of subtlety.

That movie is a cartoonish fever dream. My girlfriend loves the book and is an apologist for Luhrmann's film.

I liked V. But I've not read the comic.

same with Watchmen really.

I'm far more concerned about the upcoming American version of Dirk Gently.

the telly show was bad too. However the radio play was very good.
