I wonder if we might hear Hallelujah on the radio today?
(formerly miserneil)
Where to begin? His "Greatest Hits" was part of my musical awakening at University. I probably also had "Songs From a Room", and then 5 or 6 years later bought "I'm Your Man". I thought Jazz Police was utter shit, but it's the comedy karaoke song which my wife and I murder in the car every now and then. When I met my wife, she also had the cassette version of "I'm Your Man", and I thought 'not bad taste for a Spanish'. "Tower Of Song" is, well, towering.
"Everybody Knows" is one of my favourites, especially after being featured in 2 great films - "Pump Up The Volume" and "Exotica".

RIP
But it is, and always will be, the best.

Hallelujah apparently reckoned to be the most covered song of all time, outstripping anything by the Beatles now. Not bad for someone most people go 'who?' when you mention him.

I've got his latest "You Want It Darker" and it's clear from that he knows he didn't have long left.
Think I'll put some of his albums on today.
