Yep, while I like these things are a good excuse for the press people to write about astronomical topics, the actual difference in size is not something you'd notice unless you had a way to actually measure it.
If you took zoomed photos of the full moon each month, for example, you would notice a bit of a difference in the pictures. But not that much.
