Using Fuzz with a switcher (Boss es5)

Given that lots of Fuzz hates buffers etc - is it even possible to use something like the analog man BC108 with a Boss ES 5/8

Is only solution to have the fuzz upfront before the switcher?

No. Get a fuzz or muff that isn't buffer sensitive. The Fallout is fine.As is a RAT.

  • True - just it's not always easy to know what reacts and what doesn't

  • @Magnetic_Effects any issue with your fuzzes?

  • I have a diy build article from Guitar & Bass for a transformer based 'pickup simulator' box that supposedly overcomes this issue (basically, it has a high-impedence output - like a guitar pickup - and some basic gubbins to 'tune' the sound slightly).

I have no idea how accurately it replicates direct-to-guitar but it's a pretty simple circuit that fits in a small enclosure. I can send you a scan if you're interested although I'm sure something similar must be online somewhere.

  • Thanks @steamabacus ideally I'd like to avoid having an extra box on the board - would rather just by a Fuzz that works :)

@Teetonetal All my fuzzes work totally fine with buffers. I designed them to be buffer friendly.

I have a @Magnetic_Effects White Atom with my ES-8. Works perfectly.
