A friend once recommended I watch MM so I tried it.  Years later that friend has no idea how much damage he did to my opinion of him with that recommendation.

I find him amusing, not that I really watch stand up comics. I'm not here to defend him though, we all have different tastes.

McIntyre is a safe entertainer for early Sat evening variety shows. I don't find him amusing at all, but he fits the "entertainer" bill well.  Good luck to him - all the others are dead !

He reminds me of Bob Monkhouse when he tried to get edgy in the 90s by saying "c*nt" a lot.

Actually that's being unfair to Monkhouse, he was pretty sharp.

What I like about MM is his bank balance.

I liked his first couple of shows, light hearted and easy. Not exactly my favourite, but alright, good fun If You Are In The Mood. His TV show is not great though. 

I really like Louis CK and Frankie Boyle.

Why would you stop disliking someone? Has he changed? Sounds like a nob and I don't care for his act.

However people like Stewart Lee are hating MM purely for the purposes of their act, just like when Lee said that James Corden watching him perform was like "A dog listening to classical music".

On that subject, am I the only one who doesn't find "Only Fools..." at all funny? To me it's just another one of those bland 70s/80s sitcoms.
