  • You're all wrong.

We played this at one of our launch gigs...there was this stunned silence when we started with the Metallica riff (female vocalist != Hetfield), then she came in and everybody got the joke.
    That's ace!

What's that chord that Phil X starts playing at 1:22?

That's an E7#9 which is usually x7678x which lots of people call the "Hendrix chord" as he used it in well-known stuff like Purple Haze and Foxey Lady.

Assuming a key of E, for the chords under "...you believe in things...", I've always played:

    B7:       7 x 7 8 7 x
    C7b5:   8 x 8 9 7 x
    B7:       7 x 7 8 7 x
    Bb7b5: 6 x 6 7  5  x
    A7:      5 x 5 6 5 x

    Followed by the stabs on:
    B7#5:  7 x 7  8  8  x

    It's not a competition.

    said noone ever. :)

    only joking!!
Roland said: Scales are primarily a tool for categorising knowledge, not a rule for what can or cannot be played.
Supportact said: [my style is] probably more an accumulation of limitations and bad habits than a 'style'.

Can someone tab out exactly what Phil X is doing on the open stringy riff groove part......the only instruction I've seen for doing this is up on the fifth fret

    This rules
    Yes it does.

Incredible musicianship. The drums and bass and just wonderful, with Beck flying by the seat of his pants all the way through.

I know this isn't wrong that's what I do,......but Phil X is playing something very different way down at a lower fret ???.
