Still happens.   I did one just like that last night.  However,  you can replace 60s with 80's.  

It's pretty hard work.... although watching 19yr old girls cavorting about to Watch Me Whip Nae Nae does have it's benefits.

I can't dance worth a f**k.

But I always seem to end up dancing when I'm playing guitar (only if I'm standing up of course)

After a couple of beers (or whatever else) I have a predisposition to turn one way more than the other as well, so my leads always end up twisted/tangled

I think it just makes you feel good, how many times have you seen toddlers jigging about with no music, makes them smile and giggle and  that's before they have any concept of what they're actually doing !

I'd probably have been in town at the same time. Though I'd have been on the dance floor at the Hungry Years - a slightly different type of dancing I suspect.

This - an experience everyone should try once!

I am sure I am a terrible dancer and sometimes feel too self conscious these days - but its one of life's simplest pleasures in my book. To loose your self in music and to see others do the same is fantastic experience to share and a tonic to these dark times.

Sometimes I look at the footage of the pre criminal justice bill raves and the commercialisation of 'dance culture' and I can see that the authorities must have been terrified watching massive swathes of society coming together just to dance and have a good time. They must've been totally confused by all those saucer eyed kids dancing to that incomprehensible music - no one drinking - no one fighting - people spouting off about love and community - abandoning a consumer  agenda. No wonder they had to regulate and commercialise it - it was a genuine threat to the powers that be and was certainly the last true cultural revolution!

I vaguely remember the only time I tried ecstacy.  Once it kicked in, I was dancing on the table in the (music) pub all night, like some weird freak.  Drugs are bad, mmm'kay.

I love dancing. Life is all about rhythm. If you can't dance how the hell can you play guitar? I can still dance welll when I can't even stand. Bass man. Everything becomes techno if it has bass. You got to cut shapes. This is essentially me dancing to an acoustic folk duet if they have a bass box. I don't care. Blue wigs are ace.
