Channel switching on Ampmaker P1800

Would any / one of the ABY switchers currently in the classifieds suit my P1800 amp, where I have a normal input or a hot input, where the hot cascades into the normal (internally) to give the hotter signal.

As long as the switcher has isolated outputs would it do this job for me?

...looks like you can't do it just using an A/B/Y because (as I read the description of what's going on) if you've got anything at all plugged into the "normal" input it isolates the "hot" input.

I'm not sure that I agree, as long as the outputs from the a/b/y are isolated from one another I don't see how it is different to me removing the cable from one input and plugging it into the other.

Ahh, yeah OK I get it. The switching needs to be done internally, decoupling the jacks
