What's Hot

this is fucking with my fiscal planning as I forget I've paid for something and think all is rosy in the bank account garden and then.....

whack! - an email saying we will be debiting £xx today for somthing you thought you'd paid for ages back

i never asked for this - can it be stopped?

With me, when I buy something on ebay, then go to paypal, the default is payment after the item arrives (as you describe) - but I always change it to my preferred method (ie using my Credit Card)........it always defaults to payment after the item arrives. So you need to always change it every time you buy something...........well I do anyway

And before anyone says "but they split in 2015" you have to bear in mind that they share a lot of board members, the chairman is an ex eBay CEO and eBay still owns a big chunk of it....

Just change your default payment type.
Having trouble posting images here?  This might help.

I think the annoyance is the fact that they change the default to pay after delivery for you rather than asking..

I remember being asked ... but it was one of those easy-to-click-the -response-you-didn't-want-to situations.

Still, easy to change back again ...

I found PP to be the most unhelpful company ever when we needed to resolve a dispute - Was fobbed off with a succession of under-educated children  who spoke poor English and were simply reading off of a tele-prompter with no regard for the circumstances or peculiarities of the case .I was frequently asked to explain what words such as Mitigate, diligence and reservation meant ...........each ,in turn, realised that the issue was above their pay-grade and promised that somebody more senior would call the next day ........what would happen the next day would be some ridiculous  Americanised pally text (not a call ) from somebody who had not been in any way briefed or acquainted with the complaint asking me to "chill " and talking to me as if I was one of their 16 year old class-mates ..........infuriating
    Never will use again.

I'm just not sure what they get out of it tho - is it to make chargeback/non delivery/disputes easier for them?

  • AFAIK, with me anyway, when using Paypal you have always to Choose a funding source at checkout, I have no option to log in to Paypal and set a default payment type...........year gone by I could...........but not now.
