  • Poor thing :( What was the original condition, if you don't mind me asking?

    Thing is, there are very few bills that you pay without question in this world...and vet bills are one of them. We're lucky enough to be with a vet surgery who keep their fees to a minimum and don't add an unreasonable margin to medication and we still pay well over a grand per year just on necessities.

    One of ours has a problem called "luxating patella", which essentially means that her knee locks every so often and then moves again when she relaxes. It doesn't usually show until later in life...poor little bugger's only 6 months old.

    It's her rear legs, so technically her Stifles.

    Original condition- well had her from 8 weeks old!

    Slightly drunk at the moment:

    Go and get very specialised advice .seriously , I am a very experienced breeder,judge and dog person .I live 2miles away from the Royal Vet College  and my mother was best friends with the past principal for years .......I would go directly there or a very specialised practice called DAVIS WHITE  in Bedfordshire -this is the Harley street for dogs ( google them ) - most vets even recommend them for referral
     Ligaments are extremely difficult in dogs and very problematic -you have one chance to get it right
     How the fuck did that happen anyway ?

    Davies are amazing.
    Our dog was there for an eye problem and they took great care of her.
    A friend's lab is there right now having liver surgery.
    They have my full confidence.

    We highly recommend Davies. We took our beloved Dogue de Bordeaux, Dotty, there for two TPLOs. Probably the best small animal vetinary care we have had.

    @Dominic

    You asked how it happened- wear and tear on the right one (not overly bad) chasing a cat on left +wear and tear (very bad).

    Winnie has always loved standing on her hind legs- very much the poodle bit in her.

    I think you're missing the point... in that pic, she's not on a walk... she's proudly admiring the result of her latest fence building task. She's a working dog.
