i don't think i've been here long enough for my opinion to carry any weight, but speaking as a random visitor a dedicated 'politics bin' thread would be useful. brexit/trump/other. speaker's corner is kind of this but it's hit & miss.

i like to wade in & start an argument (serious points or wanton provocation) as much as anyone else, but there's a time & a place.
& it would help keep the main OT thread free for important things like spiders, weather & dead celebrities.
