Here's what I'd like from the England football team:
- An English manager with a bit of passion about them, who understands basic tactics and also how to change a game and knows his best team
- The team playing with a consistent formation that they all understand.
- Players giving it 100% when they wear the shirt.
- Having a basic core team that you stick with, but - not using unfit/out of form players
I don't actually expect us to win anything, but I think that QFs are achievable and SF would be a big achievement. I genuinely believe that we had some talented players this time, but Hodgson was foolish with decisions and he has now set this lot back a long way in terms of confidence. We just need to get the basics right and play to our strengths.

+1 on all of that.

I'd prefer cold-eyed technical excellence and execution of skills.

Feel for soccer fans.
No wonder the team crumbles.
Id say they were exactly what this England side needs.
Even if they're labeled 'boring' I'd very much like to see an England team that, at the very least, consistently plays like they're 100% focused on a win. They get paid far more than they're worth which I suspects adds to the appearance that they don't honestly give a fuck what happens

Think he's saying that these could have been blooded in the qualifiers earlier perhaps?

There are exceptions, obviously, but he isn't exceptional enough to be one. (He's no Rooney or Owen).
What are the ages 20+???
At the age of 16 I'd moved out of home and was supporting myself with a job.
Not very well mind, but I managed it.
The football they play is painfully boring
