A chair, our first was in labour for 27 hours .. a fucking chair lol

The trick is not going into hospital until the action is about to happen.

i agree. We were in the hospital for 40mins for the 2nd one, Nearly came in the car (so did the baby fnarr)

You wuz lucky! Our first was 48 hours of established labour. That's a long time to sit in a room with your wife moaning a lot. Numbers 2 & 3 were both around 38 hours, and no 4 a speedy 8 hours. Generally it's not so good if you get throught 4 full shifts of different midwives ...

Both ours were about 24 hours established labour with no progress, in fact things actually went backwards as apparently my wife has a stubborn cervix... it's not just the cervix.

anyway, we got to 7cm (not long now stage) naturally both times, then regressed to 4.

a single chair was all I had, opposite side of the room. So I was standing for most of it.

both ended with emergency procedures, first was C section, 2nd was forceps and a cut.

but all is well that ends well, 2 healthy daughters and quick recovery afterwards... and for bonus points, fairly sure the surgeon added an extra stitch when repairing my wife's vagina

we both agreed we won't be going through that again, but the worst thing is women forget the trauma!!!!
