I want to make some recordings of my band to use for demo purposes and we want to do "live" recordings to begin with rather than multi-track everything. My thinking is that we could just set up some mics in the room to record each instrument and use an audio interface of some description to feed it all into Reaper.
Now we've sort of done this before using the USB out on the behringer mixing desk we've got and the problem is that when it comes into Reaper it's all mixed down to one track making any further mixing adjustments impossible. I've looked at other interfaces specifically looking for ones with multiple outputs and have found things like the Tascam US-16x08 (
http://tascam.com/product/us-16x08/) which boast 8 outputs but I can't tell if this is referring to the 8 line outputs or whether you can capture 8 separate channels simultaneously in Reaper via the USB connection.
I suspect it's the latter (which would be great) but I'm struggling to find a clear answer. Can anyone shed some light on this and, if it's the former, suggest something that would actually do the job?
Cheers!
