Least favourite Christmas song?

The seasonal bombardment of Christmas hits from yesteryear is well under way and I have to admit to loving many of them, being just about old enough to remember Slade and Wizzard the first time around. One that always grates on me, however, is Wonderful Christmastime by Paul McCartney. To me it sounds like something he dashed off in 5 minutes, having found that his new synthesizer made a nice squelchy noise. Possibly the worst song by arguably the greatest songwriter.

I didn't know they did one, so I take back Fairy Tale of New York and put Coldplay at worst, without even hearing it. It's terrible by default.

2000 Miles by The Pretenders, also one of my nominations for worst lyric of all time as well - 'he's gone two thousand miles, it's very far.'
Christmas Time is Here Again by The Beatles is pretty awful. Although I'm struggling to think of any xmas song I particularly like.

Disagree, that one is awesome. Im guessing you must be pretty young, or very old. That one is classic 70's xmas nostalgia for me.

I agree. I can take or leave most of them (apart from the McCartney one Vodafone are using as their hold music atm) but Stop the Cavalry makes me want to punch someone.

From the horrible bleat of the trumpet intro to him whining over an oompah band all the way through I absolutely hate it with a passion which makes me leave the room instantly.

I hated it as a teenager and I hate it now, if I had a time machine Hitler and Stalin would have to wait their turn while I strangled that guy at birth.

Fairy tale of New York.

Absolutely awful. There's plenty of songs that are not my favourite but it's Christmas and I'm always in Christmassy mood. This song though, I cannot bear.

From Dublin there is Ireland's Christmas Station.
I give you, Christmas FM. "Continuous Christmas Classics"
I'm working with three Irish girls and, quote, "Ah come on now! It's lovely and cheery!"
In the two days I worked with them this week I have now heard every single Christmas song ever.
At least 27 times.

They are all my least favourite Christmas song.
