It's good enough. The rear bumpers came in with the introduction of the DW12 chassis, so named in honour of the late Dan Wheldon. He got thrown into the wall by running over someone's rear tyres as did Will Power in the same accident. If you can make the sport safer without unduly reducing the appeal of the sport, it should be done. I feel the same way about cockpits. I know tradition dictates that cockpits are frowned upon but tradition takes a back seat to sense in this department.
Seeing the commercial viewing figures for Indy versus the Monaco figures will be very interesting.
Alonso can't buy luck with Honda.
After today's F1 race I'm sure Mercedes will be interested in Alonso.

More please!
That's a step down and a half for Perez if it happens.
In 27 races over 2016 and 2017, Jolyon Palmer has landed a solitary point. Puts Maldonado's final season in 2015 for Lotus where he landed 27 points into better perspective.
115 laps round Valencia. I'm guessing he doesn't have the mobility to drive a full season, but I wouldn't mind at all if he nicked Palmers seat...
Friday 21C Cloudy with chance of light rain in the afternoon/evening
Saturday 21C Sunny in the morning. Cloudy in the afternoon
Sunday 23C Cloudy all day
Looks like another Ferrari win if Mercedes cannot heat up their tyres quickly.

...so basically he's doing one.

It would be suicide not to. The idea behind the Honda deal was that they believed that you can't win Championships with a customer engine.
Brawn did it in 2009 with a customer engine and no sponsorship or budget.
The Honda deal has been a disaster: slow development, lack of unity between Mclaren and Honda, recurring reliability issues not being fixed presumably because the engineers at Honda don't know how to fix them, public spats/threats.
Mclaren make awesome high performance hybrid systems for their own road cars, why not make their own F1 engines?

They'd never get Ferraris in a million years but I think Renault have enough with Red Bull making their works team look silly.
That said, I read rumours a while back about AUDI/Porsche/VW considering an F1 project. Also that BMW have expressed interest in coming back. I remember their engine were mega when they partnered Williams but perhaps that would be they way for them if they came back.
That's another major F1 problem really; a lack of engine suppliers. Merc, Ferrari, Renault. Realistically, that's it. Honda hardly count as an option and I believe will be out of F1 by 2020 if not sooner.
