I hate to admit it but I agree with you, it is a good song.

Jimi Hendrix - Hey Joe. (Original by The Leaves.)
Cyndi Lauper - Girls Just Want To Have Fun (Original by Robert Hazard.)
Only the melody. The lyrics are all Dylan's.
Why stop there?
"Take these three items, some WD-40, a vise grip, and a roll of duct tape. Any man worth his salt can fix almost any problem with this stuff alone." - Walt Kowalski
"Only two things are infinite - the universe, and human stupidity. And I'm not sure about the universe." - Albert Einstein
I didn't either, good cover though.
My only Cyndi Lauper story is that she held up the recording of We Are The World. Apparently they had to stop for several hours whilst they sorted out a mystery noise that was coming through on the recording - turned out to be Cyndi’s bangles.
He did actually record it before the Monkees, but I'm not sure if it was released.

Nilson lifted Badfinger's "Without You" to another level. Funnily enough, their biggest hit ("Come And Get It") was written by McCartney and featured in a movie starring Peter Sellers and Ringo Starr!
Excellent. Thanks for posting that.
"Since You've Been Gone" was written by Russ Ballard, of Argent, who also wrote "God gave Rock And Roll To You" and who sang "Hold Your Head Up" (though he didn't write that one).
This is the original one:

It was originally by Elmore James...

Yeah, Russ Abbott ruined that Joy Division song for me.

I Don't Wanna Talk About It - Rod Stewart. The original by Crazy Horse is so much better.
