Hell, it's still smaller than most people's pedalboards!
If your pursuit is making music then almost any setup will do.
The one thing that the H9 does much better than the Helix is polyphonic pitch shifting. Everything else's both units do is pretty equal. The Helix does a lot of stuff the H9 can't, amp modelling, IR, channel switching, extensive MIDI, USB audio interface.
The biggest thing though is the user interface. The H9 is almost impossible without the editor, the Helix is so easy I don't need to use the computer editor.
even doing routing splits is fairly straight forward
its a really well designed UI
I honestly think the major differences bar the harmoniser which is great, is the reverbs and/or the reverbs within patches for other effects. I bet this update makes a big difference to some guys
Dimensions/weight? Is it smaller than M9?
10.8”w x 7.9”d x 2.8”h; 4.75lbs
HX Effects is about 1/4” wider than M9 and maybe an inch deeper. It’s as small as we could possibly make it.

Pitch is not a Helix strong point IMO, one effect I miss now and again is my micro POG.
I've just watched Andy's Reverb demo of the HX and he makes it sound really good.
