What's Hot

I think it was @Teyeplayer that said welcome to the age of the strat....and many a true word is spoken in jest. Having recently acquired - and been very impressed with - a Vintage Strat, swiftly followed by a Mayer signature, I couldn't resist this gorgeous Sonic Blue example.

The same old debatable "NOS" descriptor was used in the ad. If this was NOS then the storeroom it lived in was a bit of a bumpy ride! A few little marks - but in great condition nonetheless. And all of the case candy safely stashed in the G&G case. I love the way these models play - and this is no different. Clear strat chime, but with plenty of bite from the bridge when required. And sonic blue is one of my favourite strat shades - I'm looking forward to wearing it in a little.

  • Very nice. Sonic looks good on a Strat... especially with a rosewood board and a minty green/white scratchplate.

Cheers dude. Half term in a couple of weeks (yeah we are out of sync with the rest of the country) will try and factor a visit in.

  • But "Only a Gibson is good enough"???

That is a good-looking Strat of course. What is it, AVRI?

Just part of the man cave decoration ;)

Yes, AVRI 59. Acquired a sunburst a few weeks ago and was VERY impressed - so couldn't resist this.

I had an identical one - if there’s a baseplate on the bridge pick-up it was probably mine.

Great colour - probably my favourite on a Rosewood board Strat.

That looks gorgeous. Funny how you end up with things sometimes. I've not long got a Mayer strat almost as a complete byproduct - and utterly love it!

Without wishing to derail your thread, does anyone know if you can get those vintage-y tuners that will be a straight swap onto a new Strat?
