  • Seagull? or Puffin?

Well we've had every other bird suggested!

  • Juvenile kestrel for sure. Merlins are tiny!
Looks like it may have flown into a window. Might be worth seeing if you can find a bird-shaped smudge on your window.
My wife asked me to stop singing Wonderwall.
    I said maybe.....

    Meanwhile on an RSPB forum....

    ”it’s a Les Paul”

    ”nah, a Stratocaster”

  • This is a kestrel. I have no doubt. Merlin is the only other option I'd say has plausibility, but it's not quite the right colour or pattern.

The expert opinion is that its a male Common Kestrel.

Everyone who suggested that, have a wis.

There's a lovely Bird of Prey place near Bedford, they let me fly a Kestrel was great fun, the closer you get to them the more beautiful they get, incredibly intricate feather patterns.

Incidentally being copied by Gibson for their 2019 line-up, "Kestrel Burst", will be a true historic (because Kestrels have been around for years) and cost £12,000

Given the range of wildlife that frequents the garden, that would be a relatively poor meal choice.

    Wouldn't it have been ...

    It's a Telecaster

    No it's a Stratocaster

    It's a Telecaster

    No it's a Stratocaster

And then a know it all turns up ...

No it's an Ibanez .. I can see why you thought it was a Stratocaster though ... you need to put 'super Strat' in your Google search box to get the right pictures ...

I live in central London and I see quite a  few kestrels round here.
Probably helps being across the road from Regents Park though.
