    We found Knotweed when we bought land to build our house. They managed to kill it by removing and replacing about 20 centimetres of soil across the whole property.

    JK used to be classed as an “invasive species” but is actually now quite widespread. Local Authorities gaves up ages ago in trying to control it.

    The main problem is the growth rate and “forceful” nature. Note that it’s a rhizome* type plant. That JK is not known as a toxic/poisonous plant is of some comfort.

    *puts me off any rhizome type plant.
