Hi guys,
Been a while since I posted an amp build - arrival of my daughter has left me with much less free time - takes me weeks of the odd hour here and there to do what I could have done in a few days. All worth it though
Anyway, here she is. My first 100 watt amp... it's roughly a clone of an Orange OR120, with a few tweaks here and there.
It's thunderously loud through a 1x12, I can only imagine ears will bleed through a 2 or 4x12 ... I daren't try it. Tons of clean headroom, but some of that roar and fuzz you can only get with an Orange. It's also got it's own distinct sound, the EQ is a lot different to dial in than a traditional TMB tonestack. Loads of fun to mess with.
Wiring needs a little tidy. Also toying with the idea of replacing the 4xEL34 with KT66, although those valves are pretty expensive. Anyone know if it's worth the
I made the cab and chassis to closely replicate the Orange amp look and feel. Yeah the styling might be a little bit of a rip-off, but if you're going to build an Orange amp you may as well make it look the part!
Thanks to
@ICBM for helping diagnose my teething troubles. Biased properly now...
No idea why my phone camera makes the horizontal lines appear curved towards the centre. Probably just a crappy lens.

I've never tried one with KT66s, but why not? Might be interesting. TAD have them for a fairly reasonable price - Karltone is out of stock at the moment, I tried to order some this week.

Nice build!
I recognise some of those parts! :lol
