There really isn't anything else needs adding.
Reality Talent Shows are to music what roast beef crisps are to a Michelin starred restaurant.
My Trading Feedback | You Bring The Band
Just because you're paranoid, don't mean they're not after youTres Bon, Raymond..
It also doesn't stop the reason most people end up anorexic, bulimic, COE, etc. It's one of those visible changes that makes for good press copy but isn't anywhere near focusing on the main problems.
ITV will drop it eventually, but one of the Sky channels - or even Channel 5 - will pick it up and keep it on life support, like Big Brother. And Cowell will keep laughing all the way to the bank.
Personally, I confess I've watched it from the very beginning. Yes, it was always pap but it was a music talent show and in the very early years they even had some "rock" singers. Each year it's become slicker, more formularised, more contrived, more selectively edited... and when it started failing, rather than going back to basics they made it even MORE stage-managed.
Several times over the years I've said no, not this year. And I've avoided the auditions but slipped into watching the live shows, or vice versa. Finally, this year, I think I may have cracked. It's been unbearably awful.
I’m saying that it is a waste of time pretending that making arbitrary things off limits in anyway addresses the wider issue that children are exposed to things way earlier than I was, or you were.
... and you cannot dispute that you used a slippery slope logical fallacy, because what you said is the very definition of it. Someone who ‘knows all about anthropology and social science’ should probably know that.
Implying I want to sexualise children because I don’t agree with a particular method of enforcement terminally weakens your argument.

Things have moved on, you have to acknowledge where we are at in order to get to a possible solution, rather than pine for a past which is impossible to revisit and was probably different than how it was remembered.

BBC3 was a FTA channel that went online only a couple of years ago.
There is a lot of shit and a few decent shows (The Might Boosh, for example).

X Factor - its lightweight Saturday night TV: a bafta nominee it is not.
take it, or not, for what it is. For lots of families, its the only thing they all sit down to watch together, so I can't see a harm in that.
I really don't think that the producers think its about music at all.
