What would persuade you to spend £20,000 on a guitar?

Assuming you had the spare money what sort of features, feel, woods, bridge tone etc would you look for?

Someone recently advertised an exquisite Les Paul on this forum which would do it for me - although it's slightly over the budget.

It would need to be a good condition, practically all-original vintage Fender or Gibson that had been used on multiple famous recordings by a player I had big respect for.

It would definitely not be a current production guitar with a AAAAAAAAA bookmatched top and gold hardware. No matter how many ‘A’s were in there.

If I’d won the lottery and the ‘56 Les Paul Custom I should have bought in 1999 for £4000 came up for sale.

The only thing that would make any guitar worth £20,000 is that it would appreciate in price to be sold at a later date.

There is nothing, nada, zip about such a guitar that has anything at all to do with it being a musical instrument. And you can pretty much say that well before £20,000.

What it if was handcrafted by a trio of Bob Taylor, Chris Martin and Paul Reed Smith working together to produce a design that was inspired by the artist Jeff Koontz?

I was revisiting a long standing forum joke about a very expensive vintage guitar which was sold by a dealer. It’s serial number was illegible - though the dealer attributed this to someone having heavy-handedly scraped a sticker off which previously  obscured the number....

Actually very little would persuade me to drop that sort of cash on one instrument. Drunkenness perhaps :-)
Hypothetically I suppose a 'birth year' guitar ... which in my case is 1959 ... so not much choice! I love Juniors, but they are way under that price ... and to be honest I'd probably drop far less on a modern reproduction like @IvisonGuitars even if I had the money. A player grade 59 Strat would be great ... but again way under £20,000
    Guess I'm just a 'cheap date'. :-)

Absolutely this for me^...Anything over £500-£600 is wasted on me..... I spent £1300 on PRS 513 once and sounded half as good as I did on a £500 Strat

What if Jimmy Page put his name on the headstock and personally guaranteed that it was the most superb guitar that had ever been produced in the history of the world?
