Also, why would you coil split a humbucker when you could switch to an actual Strat pickup instead?
If they have come up with a way to prevent the inactive pickups interfering with the active ones then it's mind blowing and great!
On the OP, this seems really amazing to me but:
1) What realistic set of circumstances involves going to "a session" and not being able to fit a second guitar in the car or van?
2) What is this session where the producer is going to be happier that you brought a guitar that can sound nearly (but not quite) like a Les Paul, a Strat, and a Danelectro rather than just one good quality example of any of those guitars?
3) Where is this studio that allegedly has no house guitars?
4) What pro player has EVER said "Oh crap, sorry, I can't play that song, I've only got my Strat with me"?
Best application I can see for this is when flying to gigs. But how many players fly regularly enough to need this, yet tour on a small enough budget that they can only take one guitar?
It's extremely cool, but it's a solution to a problem that doesn't exist.
If it works well and is robust and easy to fit your own singlecoil sized pickups I can see some folk using this.
Im an odd duck in that I’d actually prefer to only have one electric guitar but it’s not possible due to limitations, this could solve that ( except no P90 so boo ).
Interestingly i can’t find a price anywhere yet. I bet it won’t be cheap, the wildmaster guitar I currently lust after is about £3k!
*ignoring pickup position selections!
Also, $16,000 for one of these? Is that a joke?!
There's things I've had, there's things I wanna have"
A possible use for this could be to play, say, a verse on the Strat pickup then move to a humbucker for the chorus. Impossible without this guitar really.
Been uploading old tracks I recorded ages ago and hopefully some new noodles here.
