Looking for Fender part no 099-0847-000 or CTS or equivalent for HSS setup on an MM Silhouette ie just vol n tone .
Current JB HB bridge pu  really hasnt worked out despite being allegedly 250k pot friendly ..
only stockists seem to be US ..

Use a 500K pot and a 470K resistor to simulate a 250K when it's on the single coil settings.

@icbm - is there a website with a diagram n how does this work with split coil position 2 ?

Is the coil split done with the pickup selector switch? That makes things a bit more tricky - but then you can't use it to select volume pot values either.

In that case you can't use a dual-gang pot either, since there will be no means of switching them. You're going to need a Superswitch.

looks like postion 2 isn’t split after all on the shawbucker wiring  - though JB is clearly a pu with more output than std shawbucker pu

No, but it does use a Superswitch.

If you don't want to split the pickup then it's easy to do with a standard 5-way and the resistor.

Or you could try changing the tone control to 500K first and see if that's enough.
