Recently been looking for a wee bit of inspiration in terms of new guitar sounds and effects. I've been stuck in a bit of a quiet/ loud with occasional reverb thrown in vibe for too long. The Besnard Lakes are interesting reference point in my search - I really like their 60's surf vibe and great use of modulation (which I really struggle with) combined with mighty moments of noise and whammy bar goodness.
I'm going to try and copy them over the weekend
Only problem being there's very little info about their effects set-up online... What other bands should I listen to teach me how to be a slightly more interesting alternative rock (or thereabouts). guitarist?

I said maybe.....
In the same line of thinking, I refitted my vibrato to my board for the last rehearsal but because it was a tight fit, I turned it upside down. I was in a bit of a hurry so I only checked that it was powering up. What I didn't realise was that, due to the upsidedownness, I'd ended up plugging it in it wrong way round so it didn't work. Idiot.
My ears have just about stopped ringing now - how about yours ... ?

I was the one that changed the string when the Tele player in the support band broke his. I'd forgotten to bring my glasses with me, so ended up doing it by feel alone, which was a first!
