Have literally just put the guitar down after jamming along with several tracks on Texas Cannonball. Such a great album along with his others from the early 70s.
Ah yeah- all those 70s 'Shelter' albums are pure genius. Just superb.

Matt Schofield? Particularly the live stuff. Some of the best tones I’ve heard too.

That second Raconteurs album is an absolute belter!

First one's not bad either, by the by.

Marcus King is a bit special.  By that I mean his playing rather than special needs.

I play guitar because I enjoy it rather than because I’m any good at it

Many of the above and any of the early Black Keys albums

EDIT: not sure if the Allman Brothers Band (early stuff) were already mentioned :+1:

  • Chris Grey and the Bluespand are really good.  Check out Lotta Love.  More funky blues than blues rock though.

Koch Marshall trio for some instrumental stuff. Koch is criminally underrated, and I think suffers from the "youtube guitarists aren't real musicians" fallacy. The best description I heard of his playing is that it sounds like he is always playing outside of his comfort zone and yet executes it perfectly every time.

Just to go all old-skool on ya, did you ever try the Paul Butterfield Blues Band back in the day?

PB on vocals and gob-iron, Mike Bloomfield and Elvin Bishop on guitar - loud and raucous!

Actually Doyle Bramhall ii's solo album wasn't bad (shades?).

And anything with Derek Trucks or Luther Dickenson of course.
