Its water based and can be cleaned up easily if you use too much, either wipe with a wet cloth whilst wet, or peel off when dry

I've fixed literally thousands of stripped screw holes like that, from pickguard screws to Fender neck bolts - but it will work without the glue if it’s a situation where you don’t have time or the glue to hand. Just make sure you check it every now and again if you haven’t used glue.
