Abandoned projects...

Facebook just told me that 8 years ago; ''this was on the workbench''. I think it's still in this state at my parents house, in 'storage' after a few house moves.

Anyone else got stuff they've not finished?

Well, if you count 3 acoustics (a classical, a small body and a slope-D, in EIR, Walnut and Cocobolo) I started and then stopped prior to moving into our new house, then yes. Backs thicknessed and braced, tops thicknessed and soundhole rosette in place. Neck blanks made up.

We moved into my mums house for 6 months prior to the house move. We have been here for 5 1/4 years.

At least they will be stable!

I have a mandolin I’ve had since I was 19 (now 35..). It has need a new bridge and proper setup for pretty much all of that time...

It should be noted I was a younger, hairier man when I started the above project. The body is still around somewhere, but the neck developed an irreparable twist and was junked.

There are more in the "working project" category. Things I am tweaking and changing all the time. Also a load where I have wood or parts, or just an idea ...

I keep finding things I need to do in front of my Rebel Bass.

I've had this red-flame Strat body for a while.

But I managed to find a neck for it which arrived last week.

And hopefully the right bridge pickup will be on its way to me soon, and then I just need to do the electrics...

Three, all Teles, coincidentally.

1. Putting a blackguard back together with new pick-ups.

2. Swapping the neck on a Tele Thinline II.

3. Building a new standard Tele, including painting the body.

I'll get them finished when I have to self-isolate in the next few months!

I prefer to think of them as paused rather than abandoned, there's 3 in the garage/workshop - my current excuse is I'm waiting for the weather to warm up a bit ...

I like the harlequin tele-ponty job, deserves to be completed

I'm also one for pausing. I have three things in very early development, each started after the previous as I suddenly found a more interesting project at the time.
