I hope he never dies as I won't be able to bear all the "Frampton Comes Alive" jokes.
Natural Born Bugie on repeat now!
Frampton has a special place in my guitar universe because he was on the cover of the first issue of Guitar Player I bought, November 1981.
In those days, and for some years afterwards, I would read it from cover to cover and often bought albums by the featured artists, even the ones who played musical styles I wasn't at all into.
Happy birthday Mr Frampton!
Anyway, happy birthday Peter. Seems a nice bloke in interviews.
I acquired this 76 LPC some years ago, with the cream parts and speed knobs. I assume that the original owner was a fan. I decided to leave it as it is as a reminder of the time around Frampton Comes Alive.

I did try putting it back to original spec with correct black parts and original control knobs, but decided I liked it better as it came to me. It somehow puts the guitar right in the era it was made. The original T tops sound fantastic, but it is one very heavy LP.
Peter with the Incredible Steve Marriott in Humble Pie. One of the best live acts ever.
He comes across as a nice bloke in that interview, too.
Was due to see him at the RAH next month on his farewell tour - but it's now been cancelled for obvious reasons
