    I only own 1

solidbody electric guitar. But I suppose there's also the four semi-hollows (Ric 6 and 12, 335 and Starcaster), the two acoustics (6 and 12), the five basses (P, stick, acoustic, semi-hollow and solid) and a baritone. So that's just 1 guitar then, and definitely not, er, 13.
    :-S

Ok, tell me about this 12-step programme ...

Current count is 9, most at one time 17, lifetime count of guitars I have owned: astronomical.

Well I just copied this list from my well, list of gear, and it is with some embarrassment that I notice that I have 27 guitars, basses and mandolins. It's a bit like that bit in 'Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas':
"Not that we needed all that for the trip, but once you get locked into a serious drug collection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can. The only thing that really worried me was the ether. There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge, and I knew we'd get into that rotten stuff pretty soon."
    Guitars are like that!

    1966 Fender Electric XII
    1986 Fender Paisley Strat
    1982 Tokai 'Strat'
2008 Fender Jazzmaster 62 Thin Skin

    Hmm, tricky one.

Fender Precision - main gigging and recording bass, strung with flats
Fender Jazz - alternative, strung with rounds
Encore P copy - first bass, defretted and almost never played. But it's here, it's mine so has to be counted

Custom built Les Paul copy - main electric
    Cheap electric lap steel

    Walden 12 string acoustic
Vintage V300 acoustic - though this is kept at my girfriend's house as she is learning

I also have half ownership of:
    Fender Lite Ash Telecaster
    Squier Bass VI

In bits and pieces around the house:
    Epiphone Thunderbird
Encore Les Paul (though not strictly mine)

I also have pretty much unlimited access to:
Epi EB0 (which I owned but swapped for half the above Telecaster)
Washburn acoustic which is at the house
    LAG Autumn Acoustic
    DiPinto Belvedere Deluxe electric
    Gretsch Electromatic single pickup
My mother's old Hondo II acoustic which needs fixing up

So, guitars actually owned: 9, including two half-guitars, and not counting the broken Encore LP.
The swaps, partial ownerships and all the other guitars are with my brothers, who are also my band/workmates. So essentially anyone of us can use anything anyone owns (that also includes a couple of drum kits)
Not the model boy of the village

    at my house

    8 guitars
    1 bass
    1 uke
    1 mandolin

    at daughters,  an acoustic
at sons,  squire tele and small practise amp

also had a 3/4 sized start style thing which gave to nephew, so its at my brothers house. I suppose technically as it was given as a gift I no longer own it, bit still get to play it.

Down to 5 owned, often have a few 'on loan'!

Owned - ES347, MJT Tele, Blueridge parlour, cheap Reso and Precision Bass

regular lenders - CS Jazzmaster, ES175, Gibson C&W, National Tricone, CS Bass VI

  • ElxElx Frets: 412
9 electrics (Fender 2X, Musicman 2X, PRS, Vigier, Edwards, Ibanez, Washburn) and one acoustic, Yamaha APX500 II

Not too bad at the moment..

    18 electrics
    5 acoustics
    1 bass

I've found that under 30 and there is room for them all in house but once it gets to 40 I need to clear some out and prioritise which ones get used or have sentimental value as opposed to having just because they are nice and might come in handy...

  • BlueingreenBlueingreen Frets: 2612
    6 guitars, 3 basses

    Les Paul Custom Axcess
    PRS DGT
    Gibson 336
    Gibson 339
    Suhr Classic
    Suhr Pro Series
    Fender 60s reissue Jazz
    Yamaha Nathan East
    Lakland 55-94

Too many IMO.  Ideally I'd like to downsize to:

    The Les Paul
    The 336 (once refretted)
    The Suhr Classic
    A Tom Anderson Short-Scale Fender-a-like
    A lighter DGT
    One bass

2, nearly 4, just need to finish the bass and prs alike builds.

Next up is a tele shaped strat :)

I'd be interested to see said "tele-shaped Strat" :P I've Googled "tele-shaped strat" and there's some interesting ones out there!

There is one in the making and nodding now, a guitarbuild body. I like it :) a tele, but with strat trem and pickup routes. But a bridge pickup wound more like a tele. That's what I need.

    Maybe.

And the cutaway of a Les Paul for good measure? Sounds to me like you don't know what you want, therefore, need more guitars. ;)
There is some twisted reason in that argument.

I agree. Roll on the fretboard clarksonesque challenge!
