Last week I found out that a lot of my favourite bass players & bass riffs were actually recorded on Wal basses, which has somewhat blown my mind as I previously thought a lot of them were on Stingrays or similar. The only one I was aware of was Justin Chancellor, and I know I won't be able to get the same thing on a budget, but having a similar-ish EQ to get me into the ballpark will be enough for my needs!
I've ordered an M7 to try out, I'll see what I think after a couple of days, and post an NBD once it's here.

I just pick up a Jazz, but I have a Precision as well - I can't do everything on the P.
The F-types are just no frills, which is a good and bad thing.
If moneys no object then Marleaux, Vigier, Warwick and Kubicki are fun. I liked playing a Lightwave but it didn't have a enough bottom.
I've had too many Basses lol - Like 60+ now.
