My home PC set up is pretty basic, I have a Windows 10 machine (which was upgraded from Windows 8), 16gb RAM and AMD E2. Im running Reaper, using Helix as my sound card (but I have a UX2 also incase) and using GGD Modern and Massive for drums as a VST Plug in rather than as a virtual instrument.
Recording guitar and drums at the same time, Ive been setting the Soundcard to ASIO with a sample rate of 896 (using ASIO4ALL because I dont seem to be able to get the Helix ASIO to work properly) and monitoring via the PC. Example
Track 1 - Guitar wet (recording, monitoring)
Track 2 - Guitar DI (recording, not monitoring)
Track 3 - Drums (as VST/Plug in, MIDI)
it seems to be ok but sometimes I think it literally hits a wall in terms of capability and stops for a second or two.
Am I doing this right?

@stratman3142 great suggestion, doing that too has helped
I have the helix ASIO now installed and everything works fine......
In Cubase....
But not in Reaper....
Do you hear the drum midi track playing back in Reaper?
Update: I just tried setting up my Helix LT as my interface for my computer but after a short while get a BSoD crash, so something isn't playing nice on my system. It used to work OK, but now I'm a bit stumped.
