Not expecting them to be particularly more reliable than Andertons' but it's only £50 of mine in their pocket for the next 3 months.
You can get a Ramble FX Twin Bender - which has all the other advantages of modern power supply compatibility, a soft footswitch, tolerance of buffers before it, plus switchable Mk1.5/Mk2 modes, a voicing switch and bias and input impedance controls... for under £200 new.
*And* it has a cool graphic that looks almost like the original ‘slipper’ casing.
"Take these three items, some WD-40, a vise grip, and a roll of duct tape. Any man worth his salt can fix almost any problem with this stuff alone." - Walt Kowalski
"Only two things are infinite - the universe, and human stupidity. And I'm not sure about the universe." - Albert Einstein
Was it Chase Bliss who recently announced they won’t be doing any more limited runs due to people reselling them for silly money?
Tbh, it's not the business's fault that limited runs are good for sales, it's basic human behaviour. Every business in every product does it from Ferrari to Pokemon cards.
£300 is about twice what I'd be *happy* paying but either I'll love it and keep it or sell it and easily get my money back. If it comes out and it turns out that it sounds fantastic, it'll take a lot more that that to get hold of one. If it's pretty meh, or even very meh, it'll still be easy to move on. Also, it's GuitarGuitar and my expectation is that I'll end up not actually getting one despite pre-ordering.
Under no illusions that it's a magic pedal and accept that other stuff on the market may well sound better for (significantly) less, but it's a bit of fun in some generally miserable times.
