You would be better getting a proper 230V 9vAC power supply, although it will work with a stepdown unit as well.

The original 2 prong power supply and the ac-ac converter.
I have not attempted to plug either in.
Don't plug the other one in with any kind of plug adaptor, it would need a stepdown transformer.
