I've decided to sell my Patrick James Eggle Macon Carve Top - mahogany with Private Stock Tiger Eye Burst maple top.

More pics and the full spec sheet here:

http://www.charltonsci.co.uk/guitars

Apart from the beautiful top another thing of note is that this comes with a quite striking black ebony fretboard and trim (machine head buttons, knobs, switch tip, pickup surrounds, even the rear cavity covers are ebony).

All in all, it's a bit of a step up from the already amazing regular Macons. The same spec new would cost £6050 (I put all the details into the PJE website and it came up with this figure).

The extra features cost:

Mastergrade (Private stock) top - £700
Ebony fretboard - £60
Flamed maple fretboard binding - £240
Ebony knobs - £80
Ebony switch tip - £10
Ebony pickup rings - £60

So a total of £1150 over the cost of a standard Macon.

I have attached the spec sheet which tells you pretty much everything you need to know, but if you have any question, just ask.

Overall in excellent condition (bearing in mind it is a “hand-burnished aged” guitar) with no fretwear. The only non-original “relicing” is a faint scratch near the upper strap button, shown in one of the pics (although this is hidden by the strap anyway). Any other marks, etc were designed to be there.

So, why am I selling? Basically, I prefer more Strat-type necks (having played them for over 40 years), so I tend to use either my Patrick James Eggle 96 Vintage or my Seth Baccus Nautilus. As such, this just isn’t getting used, which is a shame as it’s an incredible guitar, so I decided it should go to a new home.

£25.00 shipping cost is fully insured or collection is available if preferred.

I'm based in a small village near Banbury, so you're welcome to come and give it a try first if you prefer.

I would also be interested if anyone has a Seth Baccus Nautilus to trade, perferably twin HB (mine is HB-P90), either solid body or Hollowbody.

As someone whose played electric guitars for over 40 years, I've found PJE, Seth Baccus, JJ Guitars, etc to be at least equal, and generally superior to Gibson, Fender, PRS, etc, even custom shop versions.

Yes, they aren't cheap, but the prices requested (by me & others) aren't unrealistic for what they offer in terms of quality.

    Just a thought.
