FT - Strat-o-Parts - Withdrawn
What's Hot
I'D BE WILLING TO BREAK THIS INTO PARTS IF THERE IS SUFFICIENT DEMAND. I'LL BE IN LONDON IN A WEEK OR SO FOR THOSE THAT ARE NEARBY.
A bit of a long shot, but I have a Strat made up of the following:
60s neck, Japanese made and bought from Touchstone Tonewoods. Very little wear and great quality.
Sherwood Green Squier body. It's a full thickness, late 90s one. The green is darker than the vintage Sherwood tint, which tends to be more like teal I think. This is more like a Metallic British Racing Green.
Kluson style tuners, Single ply white pickguard, modern, stamped saddles (like the American Standard ones but with a centre screw) and other hardware from Axes R Us.
Black Lace Sensor Gold in the neck, Black Mustang cover (i.e. no pickup) in the middle, and a black Axes r Us Vintage Blade in the bridge position. USA made 3 way switch (I forget the brand).
I'd like to trade this for a Tele 72 Deluxe, or Custom, either the whole thing, with cash coming from me, or just the loaded body alone.
I'll post some pictures if there are any requests...

Lovely colour.
I'd better explain a couple of finer details now... To me, it seems a little darker in the flesh; as I said above, more of a racing green tint in my eyes. The finish on it is thin (typical Squier I believe), so there are a few chips, but nothing serious. The back of the neck heel is sanded and I think I did this when I had the neck on an older Strat that I had where it was a tight fit into the neck pocket. I sanded off the finish from the sides and presume - for some strange reason - that I did the back at the same time. Either way, it's just the gloss that's gone and I can tru-oil this if necessary.
As far as the wiring goes, it's more Telecaster like than anything else really. Although I love the look of Strats I have trouble playing them because of the knob and switch positioning. In this case I have wired the middle knob as the volume control, and the bottom tone control as a master tone. The top knob is for show only as I find I quite often knock them when playing. The switch is wired so that position 1 is for the bridge pickup (which I don't use much), with position 3 for the neck. Position 2 is for the two together. Again, this was done as I was always knocking the switch when playing. It's a bit odd I know, but I used this guitar for recording only. It was set-up Nashville style for doubling parts, so the knob positioning wasn't really crucial. I can change this wiring if anyone has any interest.
Anway, that's about it. It's a decent guitar with good parts which has been well put together and maintained. If anyone needs any close-ups let me know :-)

We only play in Paris at the moment, and to be honest it's hard enough getting everyone together for the gigs here that the idea of playing in the UK seems a long way off ;-) I'd love to do it and I'm sure I could gee them up, but it would need to be something arranged, and I'm only over every now and then it's hard to organise stuff. The Rock/Pop music scene here is pretty poor on the whole so it feels like a bit of a slog sometimes, but I enjoy the writing, so I just keep at it as it's a real pleasure for me.
Thanks again for the thumbs up!
