Hi all
After a brief PM exchange with
@Skodadad I thought I would post a suggestion to the forum. We thought it would be a great idea to have a regular Fretboard meetup for us in the area to jam/chat/share ideas/try out equipment etc. Maybe once monthly but with the scope to make it more frequent if it takes off. No pressure at all so anybody would feel confident to join in. That's the key. More advanced players could pass on their knowledge and experience to those who are willing to advance and learn. It's very early days so any further suggestions very welcome.
One stipulation I would say at this point is that no pricks turn up just to 'impress' us with your sweep picked arpeggios and 1000mph picked scale runs. If you have this in your locker and are willing to share technique then fine but if anybody who wants to turn up just to show off then don't bother. It would be better that other players learnt and advanced rather than be put off and intimidated. Laid back is the vibe here. Learn from each other, regardless of skill level.
Right, I'll say now that my organizational skills are not great but I'll try to arrange a venue given the feedback I get from this thread which is kind of central to everybody. There may be a small charge if I find a venue for these meets but I'm sure people won't mind if it's worthwhile.
Lets take it as it comes. Meet up up, share ideas and see where it takes us. It could be brilliant!
Cheers
Rob

To be honest it's open to negotiation . Weekend would be nice, even a whole day but I need to get some feedback first from others.
I'm pretty sure I've met him and didn't just imagine it.
