Time Has Told Me (Nick Drake)
     Faith (The Cure)
     Blue Moon (Big Star)
     Kiteracer 2 (Boards Of Canada)
This Mortal Coil's covers of Song To The Siren and Another Day
Pretty much anything by Cocteau Twins. Not because it makes me sad, but because it's so beautiful.

My wife asked me to stop singing Wonderwall.
    I said maybe.....

    There's only one, for me...

As an aside, it's probably the most appropriate use of a bass solo ever.

The Welsh National Anthem does it for me, especially if I join in. The other recent one is Frank Turner - The Fisher King Blues. Don't know why.

Woah - saw John a lot around that period - heart-breaking in so many ways. The sight of a man nearing the end. I really love that song....

    Music from another place -
    I'm an ol' romantic
not tears but joy - not the 'religious' content in the Gaelic Psalms - just the wonderful (free) musical form

'Roads' by Portishead has got me a few times.
Guy Garvey also has a way of breaking me when he writes about lost loved ones, I've had a cry to both 'Scattered Black & Whites' and 'Friend of Ours' by Elbow.
    Beautiful songs.

I had a strange experience about a year ago when I played a song on Spotify which I hadn't heard since my childhood.
The body's reaction was instant and uncontrollable sadness.
    I didn't ask for it; I wasn't expecting it.
I waited till I'd recovered then played the song again.  No response (other than just enjoying the song).

    @Dominic ;

Billy Joel's "My Life" is on my list of hated songs, mainly because I worked for Asda an that song, plus others, got repeated ad nauseam.
