From a storytelling perspective there is only one: Kentucky Avenue by Tom Waits.

It's about a kid he knew at school who had polio and wore leg braces, there is a killer line towards the end...  I'll steel a hacksaw from my dad and cut the braces off your legs, and we'll bury them tonight out in the corn field... just gets me every single time.

I have to choke it back every time he gets to the line "My heroes are all off in the great beyond".  It's just an amazing and beautiful song, and it's the kind of thing that gets you thinking about all the people you've lost from your life.

Cancer - My Chemical Romance

The entire Black Parade album is very dark, as it is about a terminal cancer patient from diagnosis to passing to the other side, in reverse, but Cancer is one song that gets me every time.

Other is, I wasn't expecting that - Jamie Lawson.

I know a few people who think it's a cheery song, until I've pointed them in the direction of the video, or they've actually listened to the lyrics.

Had to play the Jamie Lawson one for a first dance last year.....The couple appreciated it was a weird choice but parts of the song were appropriate to their relationship.....Even so, my voice cracked every time I practiced the final verse. Think I was too focussed on not messing it up on the night to get teary.
